MagPro®

Acid scavenger, vulcanizing agent for the production of technical rubber products and tires, thickener for SMC/BMC.

Brucite ore of the highest quality with a maximum content of magnesium hydroxide and a minimum amount of impurities is used for MagPro® production.

The main applications of MagPro® include the production of rubber compounds and rubber technical products based on halogenated rubbers, pneumatic tire parts, rubber cable sheathing and adhesives. It can also be used in the production of SMC/BMC composites based on polyester and epoxy resins.

MagPro® is used in rubber compounds as an acid scavenger, scorch controller, curing agent and heat stabilizer. The function of MagPro® in the production of SMC/BMC composites is as a thickening agent (chain extender).

MagPro® allows the processing of halogen-containing rubber compounds safely at high temperature, avoiding scorching and significantly increasing the productivity of the process. MagPro® has a high surface area of 130-170 m2/g and a median particle size D50 of 7-8 microns.

In order to comply with contemporary environmental requirements, special packaging of MagPro® is available in pre-weighted 1 kg sachets made of low melting point EVA film (75°C). This allows loading of the sachets directly into the rubber mixer avoiding dust and unnecessary handling problems.

Two grades are available: MagPro®150 and MagPro®170. The right choice of the appropriate grade depends on the application, formulation and technology.

MagPro® FAQ

FAQ: MagPro® High Active Magnesium Oxide

Learn how MagPro® is used in rubber compounding, tires, rubber cables, adhesives and SMC/BMC composites, and choose the right grade for your process.

MagPro® is mainly used in rubber compounds based on halogenated rubbers, rubber technical products, tire components, rubber cable sheathing and adhesives. It can also be used in SMC/BMC composites based on polyester and epoxy resins.

In rubber compounds, MagPro® can act as an acid scavenger, scorch controller, curing agent and heat stabilizer, helping stabilize processing and support safer production of halogenated rubber systems.

Yes. MagPro® helps process halogen-containing rubber compounds safely at high temperature, avoiding premature curing and scorching while improving production efficiency.

Yes. MagPro® can be used in the production of SMC/BMC composites as a thickening agent or chain extender in systems based on polyester and epoxy resins.

The page presents two grades: MagPro® 150 and MagPro® 170. The right choice depends on the application, rubber or composite formulation, production technology and target performance requirements.

MagPro® has a high specific surface area and stable particle size distribution. The page describes a specific surface area of 130–170 m²/g and a median particle size D50 of about 7–8 microns.

Yes. MagPro® can be supplied in pre-weighed 1 kg sachets made of low-melting EVA film with a melting point of about 75°C. The sachets can be loaded directly into the rubber mixer, helping reduce dust and handling issues.

You can request the TDS for MagPro® 150 or MagPro® 170. Please specify the application, formulation system, processing temperature, target properties and packaging requirements so that we can help make a preliminary grade selection.
